Multiplatinum powerhouse music producer Ross Robinson has listed an oceanfront architectural in Venice, Calif. with an asking price just over $11.7 million. Robinson, once a thrash metal guitarist who went on to discover a slew of hard rock bands such as Korn, Slipknot and Limp Bizkit, hopes to almost quintuple his money on the stylishly appointed four-story residence he picked up over the summer of 2000 for $2.35 million. There are a total of three and potentially four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms between the main house and guesthouse in a tetch more than 4,400-square-feet.
Entered though a soaring atrium crisscrossed by a dizzying series of stairways and bridges, the main residence’s primary living area is a stylishly appointed, open-concept loft-like multilevel space on the second floor. A spacious kitchen with textured tile backsplashes, marble counter tops and a built-in banquette steps down to a double-height dining area that, in turn, steps down to an airy, sun-flooded living room. The living area features a fireplace clad in white, rough-cut stone blocks and a wall of windows and glass sliders that open to a glass-railed deck with a sweeping view over the beach and ocean.
A guest bedroom, hall bathroom and graphically wallpapered den that can be easily converted to another bedroom are joined on the third floor by an ocean-side master suite with fitted walk-in closet, spa-style bathroom, sitting area with fireplace and a solid wall of metal trimmed windows. On the fourth floor, a bridge makes a dramatic span across the atrium foyer and leads to a multilevel roof deck with built-in fire pit. At the street level there’s an epoxy-floored three-car garage and oversized laundry room along with a roomy, one-bed/one-bath guest apartment with a full kitchen and combination living/dining room that opens to a tiny patio with direct access to the foot and bike path that winds its way along the beach.
