Wayne Brady is asking $3 million for an organic-modern residence in the mountains between Bel-Air and Sherman Oaks, Calif. The “Let’s Make a Deal” host, who lends his voice to the animated series “Sofia the First” and “The Loud House,” purchased the property just over two years ago for a little more than $2.5 million. Down a private lane and behind gates on a just shy of three-quarter-acre hillside parcel, the single-story residence comes in at more than 4,200 square feet with five en suite bedrooms and five bathrooms.
There’s a formal dining room just inside the front door; at the back of the house, a cavernous living space divided by a freestanding, stacked-stone fireplace and a wet bar has a canyon-framed city-lights view. The kitchen is open to the dining/family room over a granite-topped double-wide center island, and banks of glass doors open the lofty space to a terrace that runs the full length of the house. At one end of the terrace is a kidney-shaped swimming pool, and at the other a curved staircase leads down to a grassy yard.
Over the last few years Brady, a regular on the improv comedy series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” has often been featured in property gossip columns. In the spring of 2013, he sold a villa in Sherman Oaks that backs up to the rustic Deervale-Stone Canyon Park for $1.8 million, and about six months later shelled out $1.75 million for a three-bedroom ocean-view condo in Pacific Palisades he sold just over two years later for more than $1.8 million.
