SELLERS: Stephen Collins and Faye Grant
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $2,700,000 and $2,850,000
YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Amid salacious and dead-serious allegations brought about by a leaked and possibly unlawfully recorded confession of repeated pedophilia, Emmy-nominated veteran actor Stephen Collins and his understandably vituperative soon-to-be second ex-wife Faye Grant have, as first reported by the celebrity property gossips at The L.A. Times, put their matching pair of side-by-side houses in L.A.’s Brentwood area up for sale for a total of $5,500,000.
Mister Collins and Miz Grant purchased the larger and more expensive of the two homes as per property records in April 2003 for $1.4 million and currently has it listed with an asking price of $2,850,000. Digital marketing materials show the gated, 2,756 square foot single-story residence has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a “Romantic master ste,” plus a detached two-story guesthouse.
The slightly smaller and less expensive house next door sits down a long, gated driveway well off the street and was purchased by the Collins-Grants in September 1997 for $950,000. Current listing details show 2,583-square-foot residence is also one story and also has three bedrooms and three bathrooms but in 2,583 plus a lagoon-style swimming pool in the backyard.
Combined the two properties encompass half an acre of flat land and, from the sound of things, both houses have been extensively and expensively remodeled and upgraded with wood floors, lots of crown moldings, vaulted ceilings and sky lights, tumbled marble counter tops and mosaic tile fireplaces and back splashes.
Due to the ongoing child molestation investigations, Mister Collins was recently fired from the movie “Ted 2,” cut from upcoming episodes of the television show “Scandal” and dropped by his agency. He recently appeared in the short-lived “Revolution” program and he is probably best known — somewhat creepily, now — for his seminal role as a squeaky clean pastor on the long-running and long ago canceled television series “7th Heaven.”
