It took two years and some serious price cuts, but veteran folk rocker Sheryl Crow has at long last sold her 10.28-acre compound at the base of the Hollywood Hills, for $11.085. The sale price is nearly a million less than its previous, $11.95 million pricetag, and almost $5 million less than the $15.95 million the nine-time Grammy winner originally asked.
The gated compound, nestled into an up-sloping valley at the base of Runyon Canyon, has three homes that, combined, encompass more than 10,000 square feet. The Spanish Revival style main house has four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms plus a double-height entry, library, wine cellar, music room and an eat-in kitchen. A suspension bridge over the driveway connects the main house to the two other residences, an early 20th-century Craftsman-style home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and a late 19th-century cottage with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Pathways wind throughout the property, which includes a children’s playground, a campsite, a teepee, several palapas, and a resort-style infinity-edged swimming pool.
Miz Crow’s property portfolio still includes a beachfront home in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., a 49-acre estate in suburban Nashville, plus a 15.84-acre patch of vacant land on the snaking Cumberland River nearby, as well as a 146-acre working farm in College Grove, Tenn., which she’s had on and off the market for more than two years at declining prices.
