YOUR MAMA’S NOTE: A little birdie — let’s call her P.R. Patty — dropped a digital note in our inbox to let us know that country music queen and sitcom star Reba McEntire (“Malibu Country,” “Reba”) has surreptitiously sold her Beverly Hills estate in a hush-hush off-market deal valued at $22.5 million. The famously flame-tressed musician made out like a real estate bandit on the deal as property records and other online resources show she acquired the gated and entirely landscaped 1.8-acre spread in the heart of the world-renowned Beverly Park enclave in the early days of 2003 for exactly $9 million.
The whole thing went down on the down low, so publicly available details of the property are slim. However, according to the L.A. County Tax Man, the main residence was built in 1993, and measures in at a substantial but hardly gargantuan 9,242 square feet, with half a dozen bedrooms and seven bathrooms while P.R. Patty says there are actually 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms along with formal living and dining rooms, a den/billiards room, an eat-in kitchen and a family room with built-in wet bar.
A secondary structure between the lighted tennis court and the vaguely guitar-shaped swimming pool adds about 2,000-square-feet of additional living and recreational space and includes a lounge and dining area, bar, full kitchen with indoor barbecue set up. Perhaps this is were the much decorated musician, singer and songwriter who has sold nearly 100 million albums worldwide keeps her vast trove of industry awards that include but are not limited to a couple of Grammys, a pair of Billboard Music Awards, seven Country Music Association Awards, 10 People’s Choice Awards, a dozen Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 American Music Awards.
Miz McEntire and her theatrically named husband, Narvel Blackstock, maintain a multistructure farm compound due south of Gallatin, Tenn., and about 30 miles northeast of downtown Nashville along the winding Cumberland River. The property encompasses, according to the Wilson County Tax Man, somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 not completely contiguous acres and includes a 10-bathroom main residence of 11,671 square feet, an hourglass-shaped swimming pool with adjacent pool house, tennis court and extensive equestrian facilities.
The as-yet unidentified buyer of Miz McEntire’s estate was represented by Matt and Josh Altman at Douglas Elliman.
