YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: It was a covert communiqué from longtime celebrity real estate snitch Malibu Ken that let us know that international pop-rocker Pink and professional motocross and off-road truck racer Carey Hart have hoisted their Malibu estate on the open market with an asking price of $13.995 million. Property records and reports from the time show the adventuresome and much-tatted couple, married since 2006, purchased the 1.2 acre spread on celeb-popular Point Dume in October 2010 for $11.85 million.
Current digital marketing materials don’t list the two-story abode’s square footage — the L.A. County Tax Man puts it at 5,213 square feet, a figure that may or may not be accurate — but do show the stone-accented and rustic-luxe residence of indeterminate architectural definition has half a dozen bedrooms and six full and two half bathrooms that include a master suite with massive custom-fitted walk-in closet with swirling, conical-shaped chandelier and a guest/staff apartment with full kitchen and fireplace.
Electronic gates open to a long driveway that runs somewhat awkwardly alongside the lap-length swimming pool and spa — located somewhat unconventionally in the front yard — up to a paver-tiled motor court and five-car garage. Broad stone pavers step across a koi pond to a central foyer that steps down to a cavernous combination living/dining room with medium brown hardwood floors, vaulted exposed wood ceiling and raised hearth stone fireplace surmounted by a flatscreen TV. A wide bank of glass doors fold open to an elevated stone-tiled terrace with a framed, over-the-tree tops ocean view. The adjoining kitchen has two islands, every bell and whistle a $14 million house should have and an adjoining household office with built in cabinetry and desk space. The kitchen opens on its far side to a dining terrace and a small sitting room with a second television-surmounted stone fireplace, this one set at a catty-corner angle. There’s a third raised hearth stone fireplace in the den/family room that opens off the foyer and living/dining room and a fourth one in the master bedroom. A series of stone terraces at the back of the house overlook a lush, tropically landscaped yard and terraced ravine that listing details reveal provides private access and “coveted keys” to Little Dume Beach.
The three-time Grammy winner, one of the highest earning musicians on the planet with an estimated 2013 haul of $32 million and a 2009 take of $44 million, previously owned a 1940s Spanish-style estate in Sherman Oaks she bought in late 2002 for $2 million and sold in April 2014 for $3.218 million, and we found plenty of circumstantial evidence she and Mister Hart own through a couple of corporate concerns a sizable spread in Santa Barbara County, Calif., that they quietly acquired in two under the radar transactions for a total of $12 million. The rural vineyard compound includes a 6,000-plus-square-foot main house, a secondary residence, a saltwater swimming pool and barn.
