Hall, shelled out $4.28 million — $85,000 more than the official $4.195 million asking price — for a luxury condo at the gigantic, multi-building Greenwich Lane complex on a tree-lined street in New York City’s frightfully pricey West Village. Online marketing materials show the efficiently organized and expensively finished two-bedroom and two bathroom condo spans 1,586 square feet with beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, and “painted wood and stainless steel finishes [that] invoke the highly crafted style of early modern industrial architecture.” Presumably Mister Hall will occupy the premises with his brand-new third wife, writer and editor Morgan MacGregor.
A petite but proper foyer links the front door to an essentially square, 400-ish-square-foot combination living and dining room that features a magnificently over-sized pair of north-facing, “newly enlarged, double-hung mullioned windows.” The U-shaped kitchen, just off the foyer and open to the living/dining area over a long stretch of white marble-topped counter, according to the floor plan, has marble-tiled backsplashes and the usual array of stainless steel name-brand appliances typically found in freshly rehabbed multimillion-dollar condos in lower Manhattan. The bedrooms were wisely placed on opposite sides of the living room for maximum privacy.
