YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Looks like seven-time Grammy and Latin Grammy winner Marc Anthony — who reportedly hauls in 1.25 million a month — has bought his new wife, Venezuelan model, beauty blogger and budding swimsuit designer Shannon de Lima, a new house in Los Angeles. The celebrity gossip hounds at TMZ this week reported that the Bronx-born salsa superstar picked up a freshly constructed and never occupied, 6,590-square-foot quasi-Colonial style mini-mansion in an affluent area of Tarzana, CA, for $4,125,000. It would appear that Mister and third Missus Anthony faced some stiff competition for the five-bedroom and 6.5-bathroom residence since online resources show the property was last listed on the open market with an asking price of $3,995,000.
Dark hardwood floors run throughout the main floor living and entertaining spaces that include a central foyer, formal living and dining rooms — both with coffered ceiling treatment, an office/library, and a game room with marble-topped wet bar. The spacious and expensively equipped double island kitchen has herringbone pattern marble back splash, a mix of marble and honed granite counter tops, high-grade appliances and a window-lined breakfast nook. The adjoining family room has glass-fronted built-in book cases on either side of a white brick fireplace and glass sliders that open to the backyard.
Four en suite bedrooms on the upper floor are joined by a master suite fitted and kitted with a marble-tiled bathroom, private city lights and mountain view terrace and what listing details describe as a “Sex-in-the-City style closet” lined with built-in dressers and glass-fronted wardrobes.
At the front of the house there’s a motor court and over-sized four-car garage with convenient direct entry and out back recreational amenities include a built-in barbecue and snack counter, roomy terrace for dining and sunbathing, a swimming pool, spa and an old-timey gazebo set above the pool with through the tree views across the San Fernando Valley.
Mister Anthony has been a staple in all the celebrity property gossip columns the last few months. In early November (2014) he listed a 6,200-square-foot mock-Med mini-mansion in a tiny, gated enclave in L.A.’s Encino for $2.75 million — it’s still available at the same price — and the following month hoisted his sprawling, 8-plus-acre compound in Long Island’s famously blue-blooded Brookville on the open market with a $12 million price tag.
