We’ve now heard from not just one but three plugged-in informants, one of them Platinum Triangle real estate mover and shaker Peter Propertyseller, that Italian-born fashion and retail mogul Mossimo Giannulli and veteran television actress Lori Loughlin are widely rumored in certain high-end real estate circles to have made a sub rosa, off-market deal to sell their freshly overhauled mansion just south of Sunset Boulevard in the Flats of Beverly Hills to an unknown buyer for somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 million.
Property records and other online resources show the couple acquired the estate in May 2011 for $7.5 million, and listing details from the time of the transaction show the 1929 Mediterranean mansion — on 0.63 of an acre across a tree-lined street from Simon Cowell’s custom built behemoth — then measured more than 10,000 square feet, with four principal bedrooms plus a couple of staff bedrooms. Other notable features called out in digital marketing materials from the time include a circular driveway, a grand entry and huge formal living room, refectory, disco bar and extensive family quarters. At the time of the couple’s purchase, the property’s several outbuildings contained a poolside cabana with two bathrooms and changing rooms, a complete gym and a suite of offices easily converted to a screening room or music studio. In addition to the outdoor pool and spa, an indoor swimming pool complex offered a sauna, steam shower, lounge, massage area and bathroom.
Giannulli and Loughlin — who currently co-stars on the cable series “When Calls the Heart,” and has confirmed involvement with the upcoming Netflix reboot of “Full House” — are certainly no strangers to property gossip columns. In 2010, the couple jettisoned a picture-perfect cottage in the swanky Emerald Bay enclave in Laguna Beach for $4.1 million, and the following year, at just about the same time they scooped up the BevHills spread they’re now said to be in the process of quietly unloading, they sold a 10,000-plus square-foot Michael Smith-decorated Georgian-style mansion in a coveted section of Bel Air for $16.6 million to L.A. socialite Alexandra Dwek.
