BUYER: Kris Jenner
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $1,650,000
SIZE: 2,524 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms
YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Though the deal went down quite covertly a couple of months ago it’s only now coming out that reality television’s most famous and probably richest momager Kris Jenner coughed up $1.65 million for an in-town pied-a-terre in a guard-gated, low-rise condominium complex in the heart of Los Angeles’ Century City. The single-story unit, recently remodeled in a spare manner with snow-white walls, a couple of unadorned gas fireplaces, and undeniably luscious matte-finished wide-plank French oak floorboards, measures in at a fairly modest by star-standards but still house-sized 2,524-square-foot with two bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The loft-like main living space, too small an area to call sprawling but none-the-less comfortably spacious, encompasses a central “formal” living room with mantle-free minimalist fireplace and an adjoining dining area where an extra-wide glass slider leads to a impractically slender balcony with a not particularly enchanting, through-the-treetops view of the surrounding and not exactly architecturally inspired buildings in the complex. The dining space is flanked by a compactly cozy den with built-in bookshelves and a pleasantly commodious and sleekly appointed kitchen that incorporates a four-seat snack peninsula, monochromatically striated slab stone counter tops on custom cabinetry, long stretches of floating shelves for daily dishware storage and display, and all the usual top-quality stainless steel appliances including a built-in coffee maker and a three-door fridge-freezer with integrated wine cabinet. The lone guest bedroom has glass sliders to a slim balcony and a standard sized en suite bathroom slathered in limestone and marble while the much more expansive master suite provides a sitting area with corner fireplace, another set of glass sliders to another thin balcony, a roomy if windowless marble and limestone bathroom with glass-enclosed two-person steam shower, and a dressing room lined with custom wardrobes and outfitted with a marble-topped hair and make-up vanity.
Although we suspect the unapologetically pampered pop culture queen rarely hoofs it in her Louboutins for much longer than the length of a red carpet, the 20-acre complex is located conveniently across the street from Fox Studios and a short stroll to the upscale Westfield Century City mall. Residents of the complex are provided secured access and valet parking, a private clubhouse, a handful of swimming pools, a couple of tennis court plus a racquetball court, and a fitness center.
Miz Jenner, who not only oversees the vast, money-minting Kardashian family reality television empire but also co-stars in the long-running and still enormously popular if, at least in this property gossip’s entirely meaningless opinion, jaw-droppingly vacuous “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” continues to own the Jenner/Kardashian family homestead in the famously celebrified and guard-gated Hidden Hills enclave in L.A.’s far northwestern suburbs. The six-bedroom and 7.5-bathroom mock-Mediterranean mansion, purchased in 2010 for $4 million by Miz Jenner and her ex-spouse, Caitlyn Jenner, sits on 1.38 landscaped acres and measures 8,860-square-feet, every inch of which was worked over in glammy, high-octane and TV camera ready fashion by accomplished L.A.-based interior designer Jeff Andrews who, we presume without any inside intel, will be engaged to bedazzle and festoon Miz Jenner’s newly acquired Century City condo in a similar, decoratively maximalist fashion with all manner of plush fabrics, custom furnishings, and a boat load of shiny beads, baubles, and bibelots.
