Although singer-songwriter Kesha is deeply embroiled in a grueling and expensive, multiyear legal dust-up with her longtime music producer Dr. Luke — he vigorously denies her accusations of sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional abuse — there’s at least some good real estate news for the uni-named international pop star: Her secluded residence in Nashville, first listed last year at $1.55 million and last listed at $1.45 million, is in escrow, and about to be sold.
The often eccentrically tressed star, who’s sold more than 60 million records worldwide, picked up the nearly one-acre property in October 2010 for $1.4 million and, per listing details, the Craftsman-inspired and Zen-infused contemporary, set behind gates well above the street amid a dense, privatizing stand of mature trees on an upscale but unassuming cul-de-sac, has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in just over 4,800 square feet. Clean lines and organic materials prevail in the interior spaces that include a combination living/dining room/kitchen with Brazilian cherry wood floors and a vaulted ceiling with a rhythmic row of exposed wood trusses. A lower level family room provides a wet bar and built-in desk area along with a brick-walled wine cellar, while a wide deck that generously spans the full width of the back of the house steps up to a swimming pool set into a sunny, tree-ringed clearing.
The legally beleaguered musician, who recently received a $250,000 donation from Taylor Swift to help with expenses, previously owned a humble but hardly inexpensive 1920s Spanish cottage in Venice, Calif., that she snapped up in May 2014 for $1.65 million, but quickly sold just over a year later for a sliver more than $1.8 million.
