Young Mister Harding, the 28-year old Germany-born son of journalist and New York Times bestselling author Stephen Harding, acquired the two-parcel property just over two years ago for $718,000, according to property records, and current listing details show the modest if not exactly inexpensive abode has three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,241 square feet. A careful parse of marketing materials shows those figures are a tad bit if unintentionally misleading in that there are actually two attached but separate living spaces: an upper level main residence with two bedrooms and one bathroom and a studio-style unit on the lower level with another bathroom and kitchenette.
The house sits high above the street so it’s an arduous, booty-busting two-plus story climb past a tree-shaded entertainment terrace atop a street-level two-car garage to the main residence. The front door, set into a full wall of built-in bookshelves boldly painted cobalt blue, opens directly into a liberally windowed, 24-foot long combination living/dining room with hardwood floors, vaulted and beamed ceiling and tree house-like views into the surrounding tree-tops.
