YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Six months after they made a baby they named — ahem — Rainbow, Hugh Hefner’s former gal pal Holly Madison, the former Playboy model and reality TV denizen who now owns a speakeasy-style burlesque bar at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas — married rave king Pasquale Rotella at Disneyland. Oh good grief, children. Is there anything more grimly saccharine than getting hitched in New Orleans Square outside the entrance of the Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom? No, there really isn’t, is there? But anyways…
With a babe in arms and a wedding behind them, the couple did what many other rich and/or famous people do when they get married and/or produce an heir: They bought a big new house. Laser-focused real estate yenta Yolanda Yakketyyak swears the Madison-Rotellas, via trust, splashed out $7.1 million for a freshly renovated 1920s Spanish Colonial mansion in the heart of L.A.’s historically hoity-toity and increasingly pricey Hancock Park.
A grand, turreted entry with circular staircase leads a massive double-height reception gallery flanked by formal living and dining rooms. A second sitting room/den has a wet bar and a state-of-the-art projection system with a drop-down movie screen, and a third sitting room links the entrance gallery to kitchen and adjoining breakfast area. There’s a staff bedroom with private bathroom just off the kitchen as well as a family room with fireplace and, beyond that, a small study and attached bathroom that’s conveniently accessible from the outside.
Front and back stairs lead up to the second floor, where there are four guest/family bedrooms with en suite facilities plus a master suite complete with fireplace, two balconies, two marble bathrooms and a pair of fitted walk-in closets. Both the family room and study open through French doors to a deep loggia that overlooks a lush garden with tiled fountain and steps down to a roomy paver-stone terrace with pergola lounge with fireplace, swimming pool and spa.
This is not, as it turns out, the only multimillion-dollar mansion the couple owns. Two years ago Mister Rotella coughed up $3.475 million for a 2.72-acre estate in a leafy, gated enclave just west of downtown Las Vegas anchored by a 10,4350-square-foot, circa 1993 mock-Med mansion with four bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a home theater and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
