Four-time Emmy winning production designer Glenda Rovello has put her newly constructed home — just a quick 10-minute walk to the beach in Santa Monica’s leafy and low-key but exuberantly high-priced Rustic Canyon — up for sale, with an asking price just shy of $5 million. According to property records, Rovello, whose set-dressing handiwork will be seen in the upcoming Joel McHale sitcom “The Great Indoors,” bought the property in late 2014 for just under $1.9 million.
The decidedly dumpy, 1950s cottage that stood on the property pre-sale was razed to make way for an approximately 3,400-square-foot residence designed by her husband, accomplished Santa Monica-based architect Scott Prentice, and described in listing details as a “chic modern farmhouse” with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.

The Prentice-Rovellos previously owned another property in Rustic Canyon that incorporates the former Canyon gas station — cleverly converted to a 650-square-foot poolside home office — which was sold in 2014 for $3.75 million to a digital-media executive.
