As the high-end real estate market continues its seemingly ceaseless march toward the stratosphere, Canadian mining magnate and entertainment industry mover and shaker.
Frank Giustra hopes to double his money on a Beverly Hills estate listed at $13.995 million. The Lionsgate Entertainment co-founder, who now heads Sea to Sky Entertainment, purchased the 2.5-acre spread in June 2011 for exactly $7 million from supermodel-turned-realty television mogul Heidi Klum.
A decadently long driveway, shared with a more modest house previously leased by Lindsay Lohan and, later, Kelly Osbourne, circles up in front of an ochre-hued, vine-encrusted and cornflower blue-shuttered French Provincial villa built, per listing details, in 2008, and dubbed Chateau Fiore. Formal living and dining rooms flank a voluminous foyer that also opens onto a family room with massive stone fireplace and a rugged grid of rough-hewn wood beams on the ceiling. The adjoining kitchen has a super-sized center island, top-quality appliances and an informal dining area with another chunky stone fireplace.
There are six bedrooms and eight full and two half bathrooms including a staff suite, four guest/family bedrooms and a sprawling master suite with separate sitting room, double-sided fireplace, kitchenette, dual bathrooms and custom-fitted walk-in closets. A finished third-floor attic space contains a gym and sauna-equipped bathroom. The estate’s landscaped grounds include numerous terraces and loggias, a vast flat lawn and swimming pool anchored at one end by a vine-draped pergola and, set in to the steep hillside above the villa, a lighted tennis court.
