It was real estate uber-insider Peter Propertyseller who first snitched, and property records now confirm, that 16-time Grammy winning composer, producer, and songwriter David Foster and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Yolanda Foster have sold their Malibu mansion for $19.45 million. Last listed at $23.5 million, the couple first floated the 3.25-acre estate off market in the fall of 2013, before it was officially hoisted on the open market in early 2014, with an in-hindsight chimerical $27.5 million price tag.
The custom-built Mediterranean mansion, at the end of a long gated drive with indisputably dazzling ocean and coastline views, was described in marketing materials as “reminiscent of a romantic European villa,” spanning more than 11,600 square feet over three floors, with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Extra-wide plank reclaimed Bavarian walnut floors run throughout the casually sumptuous main floor living spaces that include a combination living/dining room, paneled library/office and family room — all three with fireplaces, and a colossal kitchen that features a glass-fronted and marble-lined walk-in refrigerator. The sprawling master suite opens to a terrace with panoramic views and includes a fireplace, semicircular office nook, two bathrooms and a pair of enormous dressing rooms kitted out like high-end boutiques. A subterranean level offers a screening room with tiered seating on plush couches, recording studio, game room with wet bar, and an exercise suite with lounge, sauna and massage room, while the grounds offer a photogenic infinity-edge swimming pool, broad sweeps of flat and well-watered lawns, a built-in firepit, extensive gardens and a citrus orchard planted on a terraced hillside above the house.
