“Celebrity Name Game” host Craig Ferguson, also host of the idiosyncratic roundtable discussion program “Join or Die With Craig Ferguson,” has relisted a beachfront house in a guard-gated enclave in Malibu with a newly reduced asking price of $6.75 million. The nearly 3,200-square-foot residence, which first popped up for sale last fall at a pinch below $7.2 million, was acquired by the Scottish-born comedian and veteran late-night talk-show host in June 2014 for $5.6 million. Listing details describe the four-bedroom and four-bathroom shingle-clad residence as a “Cape Cod style beach home” that incorporates a walled and gated-entry courtyard, and open-plan living and dining spaces that spill out through glass sliders to a surf-side deck. An all-white kitchen features ceramic-tile countertops, and a mirror-lined fitness room is tucked between the house and two-car garage. Two of the bedrooms on the upper floor have built-in bunk beds, and the other two have white-tiled en suite bathrooms and glass sliders to a slender deck with unobstructed ocean and coastline views.
In the spring of 2012, about a year after he sold a house in L.A’s Beachwood Canyon area for about $1.75 million to comedian Chris D’Elia, Ferguson, then one of the highest paid talk-show hosts on television, with an estimated annual haul of $12.5 million, shelled out close to $3 million — reportedly in cash — for a historic 15-bedroom mansion near Ayrshire, on Scotland’s western coast. He quickly coughed up another $4.1 million for a multi-residence compound in the Hollywood Hills that in June 2014, came up for sale at almost $5.5 million. The price plummeted to $4.7 million before it was taken off the market about 3 ½ months later.
