YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: We’re not sure if the Hollywood glamour gal caught a classic case of the Celebrity Real Estate Fickle or what the sitch is, exactly, but Carmen Electra has, less than a year after she bought it off-market for $2.685 million, flipped her 5,255-square-foot house in the Hollywood Hills back on the open market with an only slightly higher $2.699 million asking price.
Back in the early 1990s the petite and buxom bombshell, née Tara Leigh Patrick, toured as the opening act for His Purple Highness, Prince, has bared her naughty bits in Playboy numerous times and shook her moneymaker as a “Baywatch” babe for a season or two. As evidenced from her lengthy showbiz CV, Miz Electra is a fairly popular film and television bit part actress (“Scary Movie 4,” “Epic Movie,” “Meet the Spartans”) with seven Razzie nominations, and she occasionally pops up as a televised talent show judge. She is, however, at least as well known for her well-documented dating activities as for her professional accomplishments. She’s a well-documented serial dater of rock stars (Tommy Lee, Fred Durst, Joan Jett, Dave Navarro and Rob Patterson) and professional athletes — let’s not forget she was married to gender-f*ucker Dennis Rodman for a hot minute in the late 1990s, had a brief dalliance with Simon Cowell a couple years ago and last year was linked in the tabs to flashy rapper-writer-producer and Las Vegas escort service owner Mally Mall. Anyways, fascinating as Miz Electra’s romantic life may be, let’s get back to the real estate matter at hand…
Current online marketing materials show the undecorated and barely furnished, three-bedroom and three full and two half bathroom Mediterranean residence, near the top of Nichols Canyon, was originally built in 1986 and, like many houses in the Hollywood Hills, sits hard up on the narrow street behind a walled and gated courtyard. A turreted entry at the inside corner of the slightly angled residence, which stands three stories at the back, has a curved and Spanish tile-accented curved staircase and leaded glass windows, while the step2down formal living room has well-worn — and arguably worn out — Saltillo tile flooring, wood beamed ceiling, a wood-burning fireplace and French doors. The adjoining formal dining room, also with more fatigued Saltillo tile flooring, more wood beams across the ceiling and more French doors that open to a canyon view terrace, leads to a well equipped if hardly thrilling center island kitchen that opens to an informal dining area and family room.
The roomy, upper level master has a second fireplace, a vaulted exposed beam ceiling and French doors to a private balcony and incorporates a spacious if stylishly ho-hum bathroom, a private sitting room and an adjoining office/nursery/dressing room. Listing details also call out a gym and, on the lowest level, a screening room and a billiard/game room that open directly out to the basket weave-patterned red-brick terrace that surrounds the pill-shaped swimming pool. One of the bedrooms, with a third fireplace, is also located on the lowest floor, where it also has French doors that open to the pool terrace.
A few months before she bought the house in the Hollywood Hills that she apparently no longer wants, Miz Electra sold her longtime home in Beverly Hills for $3.75 million. Records show she bought the BevHills property, just across the road from the foot of the gated driveway for the 50,000-plus-square foot mega-mansion owned by billionaire Hyatt Hotels heir Anthony Pritzker, in 2002 for $1.35 million from powerhouse writer-producer Gail Parent (“The Carol Burnett Show,” “Tracey Takes On…”).
