CAA motion picture literary uber-agent Beth Swofford has her Tinseltown home, perched on a steep slope just above the Sunset Strip, up for sale with an asking price of $4.975 million. Swofford, whose long and impressive stable of screenwriting thoroughbreds includes J.J. Abrams, Sam Mendes, Pedro Almodovar, James Cameron, Paul Greengrass and Steve McQueen, purchased the 5,471-square-foot contemporary in October 2008 for $4.55 million.
A walled and secured courtyard entry leads to the upper-level entrance of the three-bedroom and 3.5-bathroom residence, which has an airy, open-concept floor plan with voluminous 20-foot ceilings, hardwood floors and a state-of-the art home automation system. Listing details indicate there are numerous outdoor living areas, garage parking for five cars, plus a small fitness room, a large wine cellar and a deluxe lower-level master suite with fireplace, marble-lined bathroom and glass sliders that open to a plunge-sized swimming pool and spa.
No word on her future real estate plans, but Swofford, a savvy contemporary art collector, also owns a nearly 3,500-square-foot simplex penthouse with a 1,600-square-foot wrap-around terrace in New York City’s Soho ’hood that property records show she scooped up in late 2010 for $9.975 million.
