OWNER: Angie Harmon
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $15,000 per month
SIZE: 2,760 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms
YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: A Los Angeles home owned per property records by raven-haired and husky-voiced “Rizzoli & Isles” star Angie Harmon has come available for lease at the not exactly bargain basement price of $15,000 per month. Miz Harmon, a rare and outspoken political conservative in solidly lefty-liberal leaning Hollywood, acquired the modern-minded cottage-style home from a couple of New York City-based fashionistas in November 2015 — about a year after she split with former pro football player husband Jason Sehorn after 13 years of marriage — for exactly $3,000,000, well above its last official price tag of $2.85 million. Current listings show the modestly proportioned and pleasantly unassuming if stylishly renovated and hardly inexpensive 1940s traditional cottage, located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the laid back but high-cost Brentwood area, provides a total of four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in 2,760-square-feet.
Current online listings, which curiously make use of the same images used to market the property at the time it was purchased by Miz Harmon last year, show there are white-painted hardwood floors and sisal carpeting throughout including in the primary entertaining spaces that include a central foyer flanked by formal living and dining rooms with exposed ceiling beams and, in the living room, a grey flag stone faced fireplace. A second, white brick fireplace anchors the airy, double-height family room and the adjacent galley style kitchen has slab marble counter tops on simple, Shaker-style white cabinetry, high-quality stainless steel appliances, and a small informal dining area. There are three guest/family bedrooms on the main floor, one with French doors to a shaded veranda, and the upper level is given over entirely to the master suite that incorporates a lofted lounge that overlooks the family room, a bedroom with vaulted ceiling, and attached bathroom with claw-footed soaking tub and separate, white-tiled stall shower. An invitingly shady, L-shaped veranda runs along the rear of the house and steps down to a fairly compact but efficiently arranged backyard with petite swimming pool backed by tropical foliage and surrounded by slender concrete terraces for sunbathing and lounging. A detached two-car garage, next to the pool at the end of a long crushed granite driveway at the rear of the .19-acre mid-block parcel, features concrete floors and a sky-light topped vaulted ceiling that make it suitable as a home office or gym.
As far as this property gossip can tell from a careful but unscientific parse of various property record data bases, the erstwhile Harmon-Sehorns, who once owned a 6,377-square foot spread in the celeb-favored Hidden Hills enclave in L.A.’s far western suburbs that was sold in 2011 for $3.445 million, continue to own a stately Georgian-style residence of 7,733-square-feet set on 2.19 lushly landscaped acres located down a private lane in Charlotte, NC, that they picked up in May 2010 for $3.3 million.
