Last November, André Nemec’s anime rendition of “Cowboy Bebop” was canceled less than a month after the first season premiered on Netflix, apparently due to a less-than-stellar reception by both critics and fans. But the veteran Hollywood screenwriter and producer has still experienced more than his share of success through the years — think “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” “Beverly Hills Cop 4” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” just to name a few of his well-known screenplays.
Most recently, Nemec’s popular contemporary sci-fi horror series “From” — Epix’s most-viewed original series premiere in the history of the Amazon-owned network, following its acquisition of MGM — was just renewed for a 10-episode second season; he’s also busy co-writing a script for an Amazon film starring Eddie Murphy as legendary “Godfather of Funk” George Clinton.
Now the New York native is making his mark on the Los Angeles real estate market as well, having plunked down $2.5 million for a modern estate in the San Fernando Valley’s Woodland Hills neighborhood. Originally built in 1966, and last sold in 2019 for $1.2 million to a non-famous buyer, Nemec’s new digs have since been extensively remodeled, per the listing.
