Now that they’ve settled into newly acquired modern farmhouse-style digs elsewhere in Los Angeles, Tripp Vinson and Adriana Alberghetti’s longtime residence in the historic Sunset Square neighborhood of Los Angeles has unsurprisingly popped up for sale.
The married entertainment industry veterans — he a producer best known for films like “Ready or Not,” “Murder Mystery,” “The Guardian” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” and she a former mailroom employee who worked her way up to become a top WME talent agent — are asking just under $3.7 million for the Italianate-style estate they picked up for $2.3 million a little over 15 years ago, back in May 2005.
Originally built way back in the 1920s — and since extensively renovated by previous owner Steven Antin, a former actor/director who has refurbished several houses in the area, and his mother Brenda Antin, a renowned local designer who passed away in early 2021 — the meticulously maintained residence features four bedrooms and three baths spread across 3,500 square feet. A mix of period details and modern amenities can be found throughout the home’s two stories, including vintage hardwood floors, copious built-ins and arched doorways.
Nestled behind gates and high hedges, on a flat parcel spanning nearly a quarter-acre of land, the creamy stucco and red terracotta-roof structure is accented by arched windows, awnings and stylish spear-tipped finials. A driveway is tucked away off to the side, with a walkway passing through a lushly landscaped lawn before emptying out at an almost century-old set of steps leading up to the front door.
Once inside, a lengthy entrance hallway flows to a fireside living room with integrated bookshelves on one side, and a formal dining room on the other. Other main-level highlights include an intimate sitting area that connects to a gourmet kitchen boasting an eat-in island, high-end stainless appliances and a large butler’s pantry, plus a den/media room.
Upstairs, a sky-lit landing leads to all four bedrooms, including a primary suite outfitted with a custom walk-in closet, as well as a spa-inspired bath holding a soaking tub and standalone shower. Certainly not to be missed are the private and resort-like grounds, which host a fountain-lined pool flanked by an elevated wood sundeck, along with an expansive covered terrace ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining.
An added bonus: The house is sited in a pocket of Sunset Square that’s protected under a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone, which is “a major reason why these period homes not only remain some of the more sought after in Los Angeles,” according to listing agent Greg Harris of Compass, “but have also contributed to a spike in home values in recent years.”
