Better known within the music industry as mononym record producer and songwriter Danja, Floyd Nathanial Hills has a new house in Los Angeles where he can display the two Grammys that he won back in 2007 and 2008 for his handiwork on Justin Timberlake’s” Future Sex/Love Sounds” album.
Tax records show the pop ditty maestro, who got his start as a co-producer for Timbaland and has worked with a laundry list of chart-topping superstars like Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Madonna, Pink and Ciara, has ponied up $3.25 million for a contemporary home in the historic and celeb-packed Outpost Estates neighborhood in the foothills above Hollywood.
Behind electronic gates and positioned on a high plateau, where it’s surrounded by mature trees, the comprehensively updated two-story home is all but invisible from the street. Within its 2,725 square feet are three bedrooms, four bathrooms and clean-lined open-plan living spaces decked out for both relaxating and entertaining.
A petite entry vestibule gives way to a lengthy combination living and dining room that spans the full width of the house. The living room, which sports a fireplace, converts to a screening room with 5.1 surround sound and a projector and screen that drop out of the ceiling at the press of a button; the dining area is open to a roomy, all-black kitchen fitted with African granite countertops, top-of-the-line appliances and a walk-in pantry.
A main-floor bedroom/office has a spacious attached bathroom, while the second-floor primary suite offers a vaulted and beamed ceiling, private balcony, windowed walk-in closet and sap-style bath with soaking tub and steam shower.
Wide banks of wood-trimmed glass panels in both the living room and the kitchen fold open and allow the interior and exterior spaces to flow freely together. Notched into the steep hillside, a large deck outside the kitchen has a water feature and plenty of room to sunbathe. Outside the living room and enveloped in the fluttering leaves of the mature trees and foliage, the faux-grassed yard sports a trellis-shaded dining patio and a built-in bar and grill.
The property was listed with Joe Babajian and Xander Tarigo at Rodeo Realty; Danja was represented in the transaction by Justin Paul Huchel at Carolwood Estates.
