Tinseltown stalwart Raven-Symoné recently sold her Mediterranean-minded Sherman Oaks house for exactly $2 million, well above the $1.35 million the “That’s So Raven” and “The Cosby Show” star — and “Black-ish” guest star — paid for the place in 2009. Records have now cleared and they indicate the buyer is another Hollywood player: “Black-ish” producer and “Mixed-ish” co-creator Peter Saji, who began his career as a freshfaced writer at ABC Studios and recently inked an overall content creation deal with Disney’s ABC Signature unit.
Saji and his longtime wife Amber Christine will enjoy a two-story structure with more than 4,000 square feet of living space, per tax records. Set on a quiet street in a leafy part of Sherman Oaks, the house is secured behind wrought iron gates and watched over by several security cameras; a massive elm tree out front provides shade and adds to the privacy.
There are wee patches of grassy lawn and clipped boxwood hedges front and rear, nicely contrasting with the home’s smooth white stucco and red tile roof. The front door opens somewhat awkwardly into a formal living room anchored by an off-center stone fireplace. Dark brown hardwood floors flow into the connected formal dining room; between the two spaces lies a spiral staircase and a wedding cake-like crystal chandelier dangling from the double-height ceiling. Also on the ground floor is a kitchen with stainless appliances and custom cabinetry, a family room, an office, and a guest bedroom with ensuite bath.
There are two more ensuite guest/family bedrooms upstairs, plus a master retreat with a fireplace, walk-in closet with built-ins, and a very vaguely Grecian-inspired bath with a soaking tub, steam shower, and dual sinks. The master bedroom also offers a tiny Juliet balcony overlooking the backyard, which is landscaped simply with a concrete patio encircling the saltwater pool and adjacent spa. At the far rear of the lot lies a petite guesthouse that’s a sort of mini-me version of the main house.
Anne Lush and Tim Ranson of Compass held the listing; Timothy Enright of The Enright Company repped Saji.
