He’s owned a $10 million mansion in posh Pacific Palisades for the last decade, but Kevin Feige appears ready for a residential upgrade. Records indicate the highest grossing producer of all time (“Avengers: Endgame,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Black Panther”) and current president of Marvel Studios has dropped $52 million for an estate in prime Bel Air.
If this house looks familiar, it’s probably because Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck gave it heavy publicity earlier this year, when they reportedly entered escrow on the 1.2-acre property. But for unknown reasons, that Bennifer deal eventually fell through, clearing the way for Feige to step up to the pricey plate.
The property last sold in 2016 for “just” $27.6 million, when it was scooped up by Todd Lemkin. The Dallas-based hedge fund manager and his wife Kasey subsequently gave the estate a multiyear, multimillion-dollar renovation, transforming the somewhat ungainly traditional into a chic transitional that blends contemporary furnishings and finishes with elegantly traditional spaces.
Originally designed in the 1930s by acclaimed architect Paul Williams, the house has been modified and expanded many times over the last nine decades. Today, there are 10 bedrooms and a whopping 17 bathrooms (10 full bathrooms, seven powder rooms) in nearly 20,000 square feet of stylish living space, with most rooms spilling out to covered patios, formal gardens and grassy lawns.
There are two kitchens in the main house — a main kitchen and separate catering kitchen — plus a third kitchen in the separate guesthouse, a media room, gym, movie theater and a private “security suite” for a full-time, live-in bodyguard. Upstairs, the primary suite includes dual dressing rooms and a single bathroom, the latter of which is sheathed in exotic marble and offers a golden soaking tub.
The pancake-flat backyard includes a vast swath of lawn. At the far rear of the property, beyond the lawn, there’s an infinity-edged swimming pool with inset spa. Also out back lies an outdoor kitchen with built-in barbecue and a bar.
Feige, 49, isn’t exactly a household name, though the Boston-born “superproducer” has produced every Marvel Cinematic Universe film since 2008’s “Iron Man.” Married to wife Caitlin since the 2000s, Feige scored a 2019 Academy Award nomination for his production work on “Black Panther.”
As for the Lemkins, they’ve relocated to Texas, and they also maintain a $60 million vacation estate in prime Aspen.
