She already owns a multimillion-dollar home in the Hollywood Hills, but Katie Nehra just couldn’t resist scooping up an even larger and more expensive property over in leafy Brentwood. Records show the self-described “millennial Martha Stewart without the apron” paid nearly $11 million in an all-cash deal for her new place.
Located in the horse-friendly Sullivan Canyon community on the border of Brentwood and Pacific Palisades, Nehra’s new house is invisible from the street behind gates and a long driveway. The property is tucked so far up into the hills, in fact, that it backs up to a much larger estate that served as the longtime marital home of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. The erstwhile couple sold that place some years ago to Adam Levine, who himself sold it last year for $51 million to Tesla’s chief designer.
Despite its eight-figure price tag, the structure is far from a gaudy mansion. Built in 1951 and recently updated, the single-story ranch house packs four beds and 3.5 baths into 2,700 square feet. There are large windows and vaulted ceilings throughout the structure, bathing the interiors in natural light, and the vibe is decidedly casual and traditionally charming.
Beyond its charcoal gray exterior, the house also offers a fireplace-equipped living room, an all-new chef’s kitchen with premium appliances, and a dedicated office attached to the two-car garage. White oak hardwood floors flow throughout the home, including into the very minimalist master bedroom and its ensuite bathroom.
Ultra-private and secluded, the property’s grounds feature grassy lawns shaded by mature olive, oak and sycamore trees. A classic kidney-shaped swimming pool with an inset spa lies near a big brick terrace, ideal for sunbathing; the estate also offers its own horse stables, which Nehra will undoubtedly use — the 30-something-year-old is a lifelong equestrian.
Raised in Baltimore, Nehra is also an actress, screenwriter, podcaster and essentially a Hollywood jack-of-all-trades who has appeared at dozens of industry events over the years. She starred alongside Anna Kendrick in the 2014 feature film “Mr. Right,” co-wrote the film “Alex of Venice” and currently hosts her own mental health podcast. It’s worth noting that Nehra is also the daughter of business tycoon John Nehra, a retired venture capitalist who is now an independent director and significant shareholder of healthcare giant DaVita.
According to records, the Brentwood property was actually sold to Nehra by her father, who had acquired the place just two months prior for $10.5 million. Nehra’s parents continue to own at least four multimillion-dollar homes scattered across the country: one in Baltimore, two on or near the shore of Lake Michigan, and the fourth in Scottsdale, Arizona.
