‘500 Days of Summer’ Director Marc Webb Lists Moorish Revival Villa in Los Feliz

When Marc Webb first laid eyes on this structure, it wasn’t exactly the dream home the Hollywood director had envisioned. It was 2014, and not only was the mustard-colored façade bedecked with clashing green accents, the interiors were simply all over the place — rife with funkily gilded and painted arches, and offbeat Moroccan light fixtures to boot.

What the 1920s Moorish Revival-style place did have, though, he told Luxe Interiors + Design at the time, were “spectacular views, great bones and a sense of history.” So, undeterred by its outdated appearance, Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man,” “500 Days of Summer”) laid out $2.8 million to purchase the house, and subsequently enlisted Los Angeles-based designer Vanessa Alexander to oversee an extensive renovation.

Now, some seven years later, the four-bedroom, three-bath home is back up for sale at $5 million. Ready for their cameo: exterior walls and trim showcasing more appealing off-white shades; inside, there are more contemporary living spaces that allow for better flow and enhance the skyline and treetop vistas.

Found in the coveted Oaks neighborhood of Loz Feliz, just east of Beachwood Canyon and bordering Griffith Park, the hilltop residence offers 4,000-plus square feet of open and light-filled living space on three levels, all of it wrapped in concrete and hardwood flooring, beamed ceilings, wrought-iron details, custom built-ins, walls of glass and high-end finishes throughout.

Upstairs, the sizable master retreat stands out with an ensuite bath outfitted with brass Waterworks fixtures and a black-tiled shower.
