“Small but perfect” describes this petite two-bedroom condo on a private, gated drive off iconic Great Jones Street. The condos, built in 2016, were designed by BKSK for an intimate lifestyle in sought-after NoHo. Now, the 1,778-square-foot apartment is available for $5.295 million, listed by Susan Green at Compass.
The space was designed by well-known architect Giancarlo Valle. The rooms boast 10-foot ceilings, custom cement finishes, molding, beamed ceilings, and tall windows. The great room, with windows that open to a Juliet balcony, includes custom furniture designed by Valle (so many round cushions) and two amazing oxidized brass light fixtures. The fixtures are designed to look like a crown of feathers, but they also resemble the tops of a palm tree and more prosaically, a dust mop. Note the interesting sculpture/screen in the dining area whose shape echoes the table’s. It’s a pice of curved oak from a boutique in Copenhagen.
The open kitchen includes custom blue cabinetry, Calacatta marble counters, what looks like a zellige tile backsplash and hood, as well as Gaggenau appliances: a five-burner gas cooktop, wall oven, combination steam oven, cabinet-front refrigerator, dishwasher, trendy drawer microwave and wine fridge.
There are two bedrooms; the master is large enough for a king-sized bed, along with a custom Belgian linen and oak armoire, as well as a small seating unit with round cushions. Lime green silk carpeting covers the floor. Still got more clothes? Three closets, including a spacious walk-in, ought to be able to hold them all. The ensuite bathroom, outfitted in teak and quartzite, includes a steam rain shower and soaking tub, along with a floating double vanity.
The second bedroom is laid out as a library or den. Lined with bookshelves, the entire room is painted a cinnabar color; we assume the custom made sofa by Valle would convey with the condo. Yep, more round cushions. Here is the carpet is another citrus hue, a lemon with polka dots, as opposed to the lime in the master and the orange in the great room. The ensuite is similarly bold with Vermont verde antique serpentine stone, textured black tile, a Moroccan sink and a red antique mirror.
Building amenities include a 24-hour doorman, a garden, and a residents’ lounge. Spa amenities include a fitness center with a yoga room, changing rooms with showers, three thermal baths, a windowed steam room and a treatment room. Building storage is included in the sale.
