547 West 47th Street, in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, would like you to think of it as a kind of concierge powered members-only residential club: one part resort, one part luxury fitness and wellness center.
“Hell’s Kitchen” not the first words to spring to mind when thinking of a resort? Fair enough. However, the building offers more than 30,000 square feet of deluxe amenities that aim to provide residents with an effortless five-star lifestyle. Prices for the condos are surprisingly moderate when considering the laundry list of creature comforts; studios start from $765,000 and, for those who hate to decorate, furnished turnkey residences are also available.
The multidisciplinary firm’s first residential project in New York City, the 12-story building was designed by Amsterdam-based innovators Concrete. The block-long development features 219 units, from studios to two-bedroom residences. The two-bedroom unit whose floor plan is below is asking $2.205 million, with taxes and common charges ringing up to about $3,000 a month.
The loft-style residences located on floors one through seven were designed to evoke the neighborhood’s industrial past. With a recycled brick façade and enormous warehouse-inspired windows on the lower floors, the building’s upper floors, a Jenga-like jumble of rectangular volumes, have entirely glass façades to give residents the impression they are floating in the sky. Each unit boasts high ceilings, expansive views, fine natural oak floors and sliding glass walls that allow maximum flexibility.
So, let’s talk about all those club-y-and resort-y amenities. Designed by the Wright Fit, the state-of-the-art fitness center on the third floor includes a private studio for Pilates and yoga, an outdoor training area, and all manner of equipment, weights, and machines for all fitness and performance levels. With open city views, the rooftop terrace includes a swimming pool, sun deck, outdoor kitchens, lounges, and barbecue stations as well as a dog run. Resident pets are further pampered by the in-house pet spa created by Throw Me A Bone!
Other creature comforts include a fully staffed lobby, a planted courtyard, a private dining room and catering kitchen, a conservatory-style library lounge with a fireplace, extra storage for every unit, a bicycle room, and more. On-site hotel suites mean no more backaches from a pullout sofa or running into pajama-clad guests raiding the fridge.
As for location, it’s local to Hudson Yards, the Hudson waterfront, midtown and the theater district. Interested? Contact Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. Closings have commenced and immediate occupancy is possible.
