One of the nicest neighborhoods in Miami is also one of the oldest — Coconut Grove. Situated right on Biscayne Bay, there are lush plantings of banyan trees, mangroves, palms, and live oaks, as well as great parks, restaurants and shopping. The neighborhood is also quite central, with South Beach just a 10 mile drive.
Named after a nearby park and historic home, The Residences at Vizcaya is a boutique condo complex that is about ten years old, with just 18 units in the buildings, all with stunning water views. Amenities include a private marina, a pool with poolside cabanas, a gym, a 5,000-square-foot botanical garden, and a concierge. There is also a private club and meeting rooms
One of the best units in the waterside complex not only comes with its own private pool — that’s in addition to the one for all the other residents, it is also the only unit with a deeded boat slip. So, while you’re taking a leisurely swim in your private pool, or whittling away sunny winter afternoon in the cool shade of the lanai, you can also keep a close eye on your yacht. Pretty nice.
Of course, all this convenient luxury comes at a price. And that price is $7.9 million. Brokered by Jessica S. Wolf at Luxe Properties, the 4,520 square foot condo is spacious and contemporary if sparely (and blandly) furnished, with open-concept living spaces, high-end materials, an ultra-modern kitchen, four bedrooms, and 5.5 bathrooms. There is also a private elevator to this unit.
The lanai, which includes plenty of room for lounge chairs and other furniture, as well as an outdoor kitchen, is a standout, as is the spa that accompanies the private pool. Probably the best feature, however, the one the pumps up the asking price, is the boat slip, which allows for immediate and direct ocean access. Because many of the area’s canals and waterways do not offer ocean access, waterfront property in the Miami area that offers private dockage and direct boating access to the open water sells at a premium.
And one of the less glitzy features of this building, but vital for dog owners? There’s a small park directly downstairs to walk and relieve your pet. Now that’s handy, and just one more of the many features that contribute to the condo’s high price.
