We all know J-Lo’s luxury house fetish rivals most women’s shoe fetish. However, unlike many celebs who buy homes purely as investments, rarely setting a red soled Louboutin inside, if Ms. Lopez’ Instagram page is anything to go by, she’s a regular visitor to the Water Mill mansion she purchased for not quite $10 million in 2013.

Containing 8 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms over approximately 8,000 square feet, the classic Hamptons “cottage” has all the swanky accoutrements one would expect in a high end country pile — spa, office, guest house, media room, sauna, study, outdoor shower and heated pool.

The home underwent a complete rehab after Lopez’ purchase, and the renovated home — think rustic wood floors and white slip-covered sofas laden with decorative cushions — was shown in 2019 in Lopez’s Portal by Facebook ads with Kim Kardashian.

Lopez’s other holdings include a Manhattan duplex penthouse that she has for sale at $25 million, a sprawling 8-acre estate in L.A.’s posh Bel Air neigborhood she bought in 2015 for $28 million from Sela Ward and a beachfront home in Malibu she and ex-Yankee Alex Rodriguez bought in early 2019 for $6.6 million from Jeremy Piven and flipped back on the market over the summer (2020) for close to $8 million.

    STELLA McCARTNEY – AMAGANSETT, N.Y.

By Hamptons standards, the 1,350-square-foot cottage that English fashion designer and rock ‘n’ roll scion Stella McCartney — her father is, of course, Paul McCartney — purchased in Amagansett in 2016 for $1.5 million is modest compared to her well-heeled neighbors.

According to The Daily Mail, most of the McCartney clan decamp to papa Paul’s much larger nearby estate when in town. And, indeed, in recent years his famous fashionista daughter has rented out her waterside cottage for $30,000 per month. Light flooring and faux beams help keep the decor casual and beachy.

    DICK CAVETT – MONTAUK, N.Y.

Vet talk show host Dick Cavett and his wife Martha Rogers have had their Montauk home on the market for a few years, gradually lowering the price from a wild-eyed $62 million when it was first listed in 2017. As of mid-2020, it’s available at a greatly reduced $27.95 million.

The home, which enjoys stunning cliff top views, was largely rebuilt to original specs after a fire destroyed much of it 1997. Matching ornate dark wood paneling and moldings and snow-white walls create a cozy, unpretentious feel despite its solitary bluff top location. Much of the ornate woodwork has been painstakingly replicated to create an authentic, historic aesthetic.

    JERRY & JESSICA SEINFELD – AMAGANSETT, N.Y.

Sometimes the best real estate transactions are handshakes between friends, cutting out real estate fees in the process. Not that multi-millionaire comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who bought his palatial Amagansett spread in and off-market deal from musician pal Billy Joel for $25.6 million way back in 2000, has to worry too much about cash.

Dark wood floors and white cabinetry keep things clean, fresh and functional. There are banks of comfy sofas, piles of books and an airy, spacious kitchen containing Seinfeld’s most prized possession, a $17,000 Elektra Deliziosa coffee maker, which makes you wonder why this comedian ever needs to get in his car to get coffee.

Back in 2013, Seinfeld’s wife Jessica explained the home’s minimalist design aesthetic to In Style: “When it came to decorating the place, I wanted to avoid any feeling of fussiness — Jerry and I are the least formal people.”

The home’s secluded guest house is often frequented by friends of the superstar comic. In addition, the property has its own private baseball diamond.

It’s not the only home the Seinfelds own. There’s their full-time residence on Manhattan’s Upper West West Side, as well as homes in Colorado and Vermont, because after all, who wants to rent a house during ski-season?

Sean Combs, a.k.a., Puff Daddy, Brother Love and sometimes just Diddy, is something of a Hamptons veteran; His famous white parties were an annual event at the contemporary East Hamptons home he purchased in 1998 for $2.45 million.

Though he no longer hosts his white parties on the estate, and lives primarily in a $40 million mansion in L.A.’s toney Holmby Hills, the generously glass-walled 4-bedroom and 5.5-bathroom home, which spans 4,500 square feet and features a screening room, pool and spa, is often used as a rental these days.
