Now that he’s upgraded to a “grander and more expensive” San Francisco mansion, Quentin Gallivan — the former CEO of cloud-based videoconferencing company BlueJeans Network, acquired by Verizon two years ago for around $500 million — is doubling his efforts to offload his old home, as was first reported by The Real Deal.
After six months on the market in 2018 with no takers, and subsequently leased out for the past four years, the Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur and his wife Sarah have relisted their Edwardian-style residence in the affluent Pacific Heights neighborhood for a little more than $14.2 million — or about $700,000 over what they were originally asking for the place when it first popped up for sale.
The Gallivans acquired the four-story residence for $7.2 million almost two decades ago, back in October 2002. Built in 1908 and recently renovated, the brick and ivy-clad structure features six bedrooms and five baths in 6,400 square feet of living space boasting modern recessed lighting and a Sonos sound system paired with period details like ebony oak floors and coffered ceilings. Numerous windows also capture sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, Palace of Fine Arts and Alcatraz.
A striking black-and-white checkered marble entryway displays a wrought-iron and glass front door, which opens into a spacious foyer that flows to a formal living room sporting a stone fireplace and formal dining room resting beneath an ornate ceiling lined with gold wallpaper. A family room connects to a gourmet kitchen, which is outfitted with custom cabinetry, a marble-topped eat-in island, high-end Thermador, Sub-Zero and Gaggenau appliances, and a windowed dining area.
A winding staircase heads upstairs, where three bedrooms include a plush master retreat that comes complete with a walk-in closet, and large bath with dual vanities, a spa tub and glass-encased shower. Two more bedrooms, an office and a family room can be found on the top floor, while the bottom level hosts an ensuite guest bedroom, wine cellar, and family room adorned with a fireplace and wet bar; outdoor amenities include a two-car garage with an electric car charger, wood deck with barbecue and basketball court.
