Though she’s not exactly a household name, Lucy Suros happens to lead one of the country’s hottest tech startups as CEO. She’s also a tech veteran with vast experience at Apple, Adobe and PayPal. For the past 10 years, she’s worked for New York-based Articulate Global — an innovative company, currently valued at nearly $4 billion, that specializes in remote workplace training platforms — where she was recently promoted to the chief executive role. So, it makes perfect sense that Suros would be able to live and work anywhere. Her residence of choice, for now: an all-new modern farmhouse-inspired build in the swank Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.
Records show that Suros won her property in a bidding war, paying $200,000 over the $7.5 million asking price. Resting on nearly a quarter-acre parcel of land in the blufftop Huntington Palisades neighborhood — just minutes from Palisades Village and Potrero Canyon Park — the metal-roofed structure was built last year. Sporting a gray stucco facade displaying steel casement windows and an attached two-car garage adorned with a decorative wood door, the multi-level home includes five bedrooms and six baths spread across nearly 7,000 square feet. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in almost every room provide the quintessential SoCal indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
A portico tops the front door, which opens into the main level spotlighted by an expansive living room centered around a striking fireplace and balcony. Other highlights include a dining space spilling out to a tile-clad al fresco dining area with a waterfall and garden, and a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen outfitted with high-end Miele appliances and an eat-in island. There’s also a fireside family room, two ensuite guest bedrooms and an office that leads to a balcony overlooking the city.
Upstairs, the spacious master retreat comes complete with a stylish linear fireplace, private balcony and custom showroom-style closet, plus a luxe bath equipped with dual vanities and an oval soaking tub. Dedicated primarily to entertaining, the lower level boasts a media room with custom built-ins, full wet bar and wine cellar; and the tree-encased grounds host an infinity-edge pool and spa, as well as a fire-pit and built-in barbecue.
Gary Glass of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties held the listing; Suros was repped by Katie Pardee and Tami Pardee of Pardee Properties.
