Kurt Seidensticker has always been an innovator, dating back to NASA in the 1990s — when the aerospace engineer began his career training astronauts to fly the space shuttle. After jobs helping bring cellphone and Internet usage into the mainstream, Seidensticker launched Chicago-based wellness juggernaut Vital Proteins. Some eight years later, his collagen-infused supplements have become a go-to favorite among A-listers from Kourtney Kardashian to Jennifer Anniston, with the company bringing in over $100 million in annual sales; in 2020, Seidensticker sold a majority stake in the company to Nestle. So it’s hardly a surprise that the successful entrepreneur has enough pocket change to expand his residential footprint from Chicago down to sunny Miami and Los Angeles.
In Miami, Seidensticker recently bought a $3.8 million condo at the exclusive Jade Signature skyscraper. In L.A., he’s gone even bigger — records reveal he’s dropped just over $12 million on an ocean-view vacation home in posh Pacific Palisades.
Perched on a lofty ridge overlooking the Pacific in the sought-after Via Bluffs neighborhood near Palisades Village, Seidensticker’s new digs were completed just this year. Custom designed by husband-and-wife duo David and Eliana Rokach, the slickly contemporary structure features five bedrooms and 5.5 baths spread across nearly 6,000 square feet of modern, open-plan living space — all of it offering up unobstructed ocean and mountain views via floor-to-ceiling walls of glass.
Among the highlights: a great room sporting a sleekly designed kitchen with stainless appliances and an eat-in marble island that adjoins a dining area, along with a living room that spills seamlessly out to a terrace overlooking a grassy lawn and vertigo-inducing infinity pool. Upstairs, the master suite has a sitting area, plus a spa-like bath boasting dual vanities, a glass-encased shower and window-topped soaking tub. Elsewhere in the house is a dedicated office space, plus a full finished basement complete with a media/game room and wet bar.
The pièce de résistance? An expansive roof deck with a hot tub, plus plenty of room for lounging and entertaining amid those breathtaking vistas. There’s also an attached two-car garage. Ryan Jancula and Trevor Montano of Compass served as the listing agents; the buyer was repped by James Harris and David Parnes of The Agency.
