Image Credit: Airbnb In 2007, the former station, which had fallen into quite a bit of disrepair, was purchased by film and television writer Jesse Peretz and his wife, Sarah Sophie Flicker, for $2.58 million. The couple then set about a large-scale renovation, giving the dwelling a much-needed update and facelift while keeping many of the original details intact. As the listing notes, the home is outfitted “with vintage furniture, to maintain its classic farmhouse charm, but with many modern conveniences.”

Image Credit: Airbnb Offered on both VRBO and Airbnb at an average nightly rate of $1,100, the beach house boasts six bedrooms, four baths, a bonus loft room, four porches, and a large kitchen with two sinks, two ovens, and a Wolf range! The fabulous five-story tower features an additional bedroom space, of which the listing dreamily describes, “Climb up the ladder from the third floor where you have a desk and workplace and crawl into a cozy single bed where you are greeted with panoramic views.”

One guest even commented, “I felt like I was in a movie.” He’s not far off!

Image Credit: Airbnb It is at the haunting property that Grace seeks shelter as her world begins to fall apart in the second episode of “The Undoing,” titled “The Missing.” Said to be at 361 Beach Way Dr., the house belongs to Grace’s wealthy father, Franklin Reinhardt (Donald Sutherland), on the show. For whatever reason, producers chose to digitally erase the home’s most distinct feature, its tower, during post-production, in what I can only imagine was an attempt to make the place more nondescript. Regardless of the change and despite the fact that the pad only appears in the last 10 minutes of the episode, it sure makes an impression!

Image Credit: Airbnb Aside from the removal of the tower, little was changed for “The Undoing” shoot. The production even made use of some of the property’s actual furnishings, including the spacious wooden dining room table, which seats 14. Director Susanne Bier told Architectural Digest, “We wanted to maintain the sense that this house hadn’t been radically changed. It’s like when people have a holiday home. And part of the joy is visiting it and knowing that the cup you used to drink from is still there. She [Grace] still has that childhood experience running on the beach. All those things are tied up in the atmosphere.”

Image Credit: Warner Bros. Television The dwelling has also hosted filming of another HBO series! In the season three episode of “Girls” aptly titled “Beach House,” which aired in 2014, Marnie Michaels (Allison Williams) invites her friends to spend the weekend at the property, which is said to belong to her mother’s friend. The episode was directed by none other than Jesse Peretz, so it’s no surprise his residence wound up as its central location. In fact, it was thanks to the place that the whole episode came to be. In a Northforker article, “Girls” executive producer Ilene S. Landress explained that series creator/showrunner Lena Dunham visited Peretz at the home the summer before filming took place and “really liked the North Fork, so she thought, ‘Let’s shoot an episode here.’”
