See the Real Interior of George’s House from ‘Superintelligence’

Seemingly quaint from the outside, the charming abode is actually quite spacious with three bedrooms and two and a half baths in 2,865 square feet. The 1920 Craftsman, which was renovated in 1995, boasts exquisite interiors including pine hardwood flooring, three fireplaces, a family room with custom floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and a formal two-story dining room.

The expansive updated kitchen features an eating area, a large island with a stainless steel counter top and French doors leading out to the backyard.

With cased doorways, decorative moldings, sloping rooflines and coffered ceilings throughout, architectural details abound at the residence.

The scant but bucolic 0.17-acre lot includes a stone patio, a deck and a large front porch complete with a swing. The idyllic property sold last August for $1,135,000, which is an impressive figure being that, per Realtor.com, the median sales price for homes in the area is $348,500!

George’s home pops up numerous times throughout “Superintelligence.” 

Though I have never traveled to Atlanta and am largely unfamiliar with the city as a whole, finding the property was a snap thanks to an address placard reading “801” that was visible in several scenes. A simple Google search for “801,” “house” and “Atlanta” kicked back a Realtor.com listing for 801 Vedado Way NE and, sure enough, the MLS photos featured matched George’s place! Interestingly, in looking at historic Google Street View imagery of the residence, it is apparent that the sleek metal placard seen in the movie was just a prop that set dressers swapped with the home’s actual tiled signage for the shoot. What is not apparent is why the faux placard featured the home’s real address number. I’m grateful it did, though, otherwise I might never have IDed the place.

The property’s charm and insane curb appeal transferred beautifully to the screen. Only the exterior of the place appeared in “Superintelligence,” though.

The interior of George’s house was a studio-built set created by production designer Jefferson Sage, who is a frequent collaborator of McCarthy’s. Said set very closely mimicked the inside of the Vedado Way home, from the black minimalist fireplace in the living room to the cased doors and coffered ceilings throughout.

But there are notable differences, namely George’s kitchen which is smaller and far less luxe than the real thing, though no doubt just as charming.

George’s family room is also missing a fireplace and is open to the kitchen, unlike the actual house. Otherwise, though, the set is a dead ringer for its real-world counterpart.

The 800 block of Vedado is quite the popular filming location as of late. The residence located right next door to George’s at 807 Vedado portrays the childhood home of Teddy (Kevin Hart) in the 2018 comedy “Night School.”
