He’s back in! Canadian entrepreneur Robert Herjavec, founder of an eponymous IT security company and best known to the general public as the “nice guy” judge on America’s version of “Shark Tank,” has returned to Hidden Hills. Records show the prolific investor, 60, just dropped nearly $26 million for a vast estate; sprawling across 7.4 hilltop acres, the palatial property is anchored by a modern farmhouse with panoramic views.
The $26 million sale price is a new record for Hidden Hills, a guard-gated community squirreled away deep in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley whose current residents include Nicki Minaj, Madonna and nearly every Kardashian family member.
This is not the first Hidden Hills home Herjavec has owned. Four years ago, he paid $14.6 million for a smaller estate in the neighborhood, though he said “I’m out” to that place in 2021, flipping it for $17 million to Miriam Schaeffer, a former nail polish company executive.
Herjavec’s new estate is the largest Hidden Hills property of them all. As such, the place has been visited by many high-profile celebrities over the years; astute real estate watchers may recall that Kris and Kylie Jenner were photographed touring the then-under-construction site way back in 2018, though they ultimately declined to purchase it.
In 2019, the newly-finished spec mansion was sold for $22.2 million to Texas-based energy trader Michael Maggi, founder of Goldfinch Capital, and his wife Erin, who redesigned the interiors herself. By early 2021, the massive estate was back on the market, asking $29 million, though it took two years and several price chops before Herjavec finally came calling.
Spanning nearly 15,000 square feet, the giant home includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, plus a glass-walled gym, sauna, state-of-the-art kitchen and an upstairs master suite with a private view deck and dual bathrooms. Outdoors, the numerous amenities encompass a batting cage, golf greens, an infinity-edge pool and built-in BBQ area with ample space for al fresco entertaining.
Also on the premises are a full-size tennis court, a sand volleyball court, a pool-sized manmade pond stocked with koi, hiking trails and two separate garages with room for 11 cars — surely an amenity that appealed to the auto-loving Herjavec.
Herjavec and his wife Kym Johnson, a former “Dancing With the Stars” professional, still own a Toronto home and an $8 million vacation house in Newport Beach, though their main residence remains a $32 million penthouse at the One57 skyscraper in New York City.
Marc and Hanna Shevin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties held the Hidden Hills listing; Tomer Fridman of Compass repped the buyer.
