By now, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fans know snippets of the wild drama that went down among the cast on their trip to Kyle Richards’ Aspen vacation home earlier this year — the horrible shenanigans that perhaps made Richards and her luxury real estate broker husband Mauricio Umansky, founder and CEO of The Agency, subsequently decide to sell that place after six years of blissful ownership. (The house popped up for sale in June, asking $9.7 million.)
And with that property now under contract with an unknown buyer — who hopefully will bring lots of sage to rid any lingering bad vibes from the beleaguered residence — the couple is ready to begin anew with another “happy place.” Records show they used an LLC named “Good Vibes Chalet” to pay local businessperson Christine Desanzo $13.6 million for another house in the ritzy ski resort town, this one featuring four bedrooms and six baths in just over 4,300 square feet of living space to accommodate their big family.
The two-story structure rests on over a quarter-acre parcel about a mile away from downtown Aspen. Originally built in the late 1990s, and recently remodeled, there are rich hardwood floors, soaring wood-beam ceilings and chandeliers fashioned from deer antlers. Several terraces offer the ideal spot for al fresco entertaining, all while overlooking picturesque views of the surrounding mountains.
Other highlights include a living room hosting a stone fireplace and cozy windowed seating nook, plus an adjoining dining area connecting to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with a spacious eat-in island and premium stainless appliances. Upstairs, the fireside master suite is adorned with doors spilling out to a private balcony sporting a hot tub, as well as a luxe bath holding dual vanities, a soaking tub and glass-encased shower. Three additional ensuite bedrooms can be found elsewhere, along with two large flex rooms on each level; and topping it all off is an attached two-car garage out front.
In addition to their current and former Aspen homes, the Umansky-Richards family also owns an $8 million Encino mansion and a getaway in the desert resort community of La Quinta. In January, the couple finally sold their longtime Bel Air home, which had been off the market for more than three years, for just over $6 million.
