Heather and Terry Dubrow Sell $55 Million Newport Coast Mansion to Mystery Buyer

Though it was never officially on the market, an elaborate Newport Coast mansion owned by “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Heather Dubrow and her husband Terry, a plastic surgeon and “Botched” TV personality, has sold for a whopping $55 million — Orange County’s priciest residential real estate transaction so far this year, topping the recent $43.5 million transfer of a newly built home in Laguna Beach’s exclusive Emerald Bay enclave.

The all-cash buyer’s name hasn’t publicly surfaced yet, but they are widely rumored to be foreign — likely hailing from China, and they obviously have very deep pockets. As for the Dubrows, they recently paid $14 million for a lavish Roberto Cavalli-designed penthouse in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles and are in the midst of building a vacation home in Idaho; the couple also is reportedly continuing to live elsewhere in Orange County while filming season 17 of RHOC.

Built from the ground up over several years by Robert St. John of Rodeo Homes and completed in 2018 at a reported cost of $21 million, the ocean-view house affectionately known as “Chateau Dubrow” rests on nearly an acre of blufftop land in the guard-gated Crystal Cove community. The Dubrows acquired the land for a speck under $4.2 million back in 2013. And the result of their efforts? A massive Tuscan-style home boasting a facade accented by columns, pediments and Palladian windows, which rests on resort-like grounds laced with palm trees and manicured gardens.

Largely designed and decorated by Heather Dubrow herself, with assistance from interior designer Jessica Calvert, the mega-mansion features seven bedrooms and 14 baths spread across 22,000 square feet of living space adorned throughout with stone, wood and leather finishes. Glitzy amenities include a soaring entryway displaying a huge chandelier dangling from onyx slabs, plus an etched window depicting a tree and hidden items related to Dubrow family members, glass-encased and lighted champagne wall, and 21-seat movie theater with Dolby surround sound and a ceiling with shooting stars.

Other highlights include a fireside family room that connects to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with dual islands (one for cooking and the other for entertaining), top-tier appliances and a separate dining area. An opulent master retreat sports an oversized walk-in closet; and outdoors, the grounds host an infinity pool and spa, along with a barbecue pavilion. No word on whether the deal included that colossal gong!

The deal was reportedly brokered by Josh Altman of Douglas Elliman, and is slated to appear on Bravo’s upcoming season of “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.”
