To say Christina Haack’s year has been action-packed would be putting it mildly. The longtime HGTV star, 38, finalized her divorce from second ex-husband Ant Anstead, sold their $5.4 million Newport Beach home and bought a $2.5 million vacation property in Nashville. She also got into a widely-reported verbal spat with her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa — allegedly — while on the couple’s “Flip or Flop” show set, during which El Moussa boasted that his “Selling Sunset” fiancée Heather Rae Young is “hotter and richer” than his ex. But at least half of that statement appears to be incorrect, as records reveal Haack has just dropped another $10.3 million to buy a brand-new mansion in a particularly exclusive Orange County gated community.
Built on speculation and completed in 2020, the snazzy home’s architecture is perhaps best described as boxy contemporary with quasi-Tuscan influences. The property had been on the market since June of last year, at a variety of asking prices that ranged from about $9.9 to nearly $10.6 million. With more than 6,000 square feet of living space, there are five bedrooms and a total of 6.5 bathrooms, all of them with “exquisite craftsmanship and designer details,” and built “with no expense spared,” per the listing.
Haack now resides in The Strand at Headlands, a 24/7 guard-gated community of about 45 newly-built custom homes in posh Dana Point. Other neighboring properties have sold for up to $13.5 million, so the “Christina on the Coast” star may have gotten a deal — depending on how one looks at it, of course. The hillside house sports a trendy open-plan living arrangement, with an expansive great room adjoining both the formal dining room and chef’s kitchen, the latter of which packs in top-notch Wolf and SubZero appliances.
Other amenities here include garaging for four cars, a movie theater, private office, games room with a pool table, a fully enclosed greenhouse-like dining terrace with ocean views and an upstairs “owner’s suite” with a fireplace, spa-style bathroom and bespoke closet. There’s also a fully loaded rooftop deck with a fireplace and additional space for outdoor entertaining, in addition to the more typical backyard with its geometric pool, spa and firepit.
Undoubtedly the property’s best features, however, are its spectacular bird’s-eye views of the Pacific Ocean. Residents of The Strand at Headlands also have exclusive access to the community’s private beach club, which sits oceanfront in a 9,000-square-foot building complete with a glass-walled fitness center, swimming pool, staffed bar and open lounge. Residents also have direct access to the beach itself, of course, and the community is an easy jog to the Ritz-Carlton, a perennially ritzy Orange County neighborhood favorite.
Hanna Karcho-Polselli of Luxury Fine Homes held the listing; Troy Howard and Dennis Adelpour of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties repped Haack.
