‘Access Hollywood’ Host Zuri Hall Chooses Woodland Hills Modern

From her humble beginnings in the Ohio port city of Toledo, Zuri Hall has steadily climbed the proverbial ladder of showbiz success. First came college at Ohio State University; after graduating with a communications degree, the aspiring entertainment reporter worked at local television stations in Indiana, Ohio, and Texas, before taking the plunge and relocating to Tinseltown.

Eventually, Hall forged a small team, including a talent agent and an attorney, who would help land her first major role as an MTV, where she hosted various network specials and after-shows. She then jumped ship to E!, falling into her groove as a daily correspondent from 2015-2019 before landing at her current role — as a correspondent on NBC’s long-running entertainment news show “Access Hollywood.” Along the way, Hall launched a YouTube channel that sports more than 110,000 subscribers, and she’s also got more than 130,000 followers on Instagram.

All that upward career mobility has culminated in Hall’s acquisition of her first house: a $1.3 million property in the quintessentially suburban San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Woodland Hills, which she’ll presumably share with her longtime boyfriend, NFL player Sean Culkin. Built in 1990, the blocky modern clings to a steep hillside and offers 3,300 square feet of living space spread out over multiple floors.

The home’s unfurnished interiors provide a welcome blank canvas, where whites and greys and would likely benefit from a pop of color here and there. Out front, the place sits hard up on the street, although the lane is quiet and used mainly by a handful of neighbors. Double doors open into a landing that faces carpeted staircases leading both up and down.

Downstairs, there’s a family room with a fireplace, wet bar, and sliding glass doors opening to a balcony. Adjoining the family room is a distinctly ’90s kitchen that packs in granite countertops and stainless appliances. The breakfast nook is relatively unremarkable save for a luridly red accent wall; it also offers glass sliders opening to the balcony.

A home office sports a second wet bar, while all three bedrooms offer grey wall-to-wall carpeting. The master bedroom adds a fireplace to the mix, plus an ensuite bathroom that appears recently upgraded — there are newer stone surfaces surrounding the built-in tub.

The steeply sloped property offers almost no traditional yard, perhaps not ideal for Fido but good for maintenance costs. Big balconies and exterior staircases amplify the home’s best feature, the panoramic views of the San Fernando Valley. The rooftop deck also includes a jacuzzi with more maximum view wattage.
