Only a year after he acquired the impressive hilltop estate, Yo Gotti is putting his Los Angeles-area home back up for sale. Tucked away within a guard-gated community in Westlake Village, about an hour northwest of Downtown L.A. by car, the “Recession Proof” rapper’s 3-acre property is fully landscaped and boasts numerous amenities — for starters, there’s a Tuscan-style mansion, two pools, rose gardens and a full-size tennis court.
Born Mario Mims and long based in Memphis, Gotti has worked in the music industry for his entire career, though he perhaps first achieved widespread fame and mainstream success with his 2016 album “The Art of Hustle,” which peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The following year, his single “Rake It Up” featuring Nicki Minaj went top 10 on the Hot 100 singles chart. Gotti is also a successful record exec; the 41-year-old is CEO and founder of Nashville record firm Collective Music Group (CMG).
Known as Villa Forza, the Westlake Village manor’s $8.6 million asking price is exactly $1 million more than Gotti paid for the place last May. Situated behind gates, the sprawling home was built in the late 1990s and includes more than 10,000 square feet of living space spread across a single story, directly overlooking the golf greens at prestigious North Ranch Country Club.
The home’s interiors are unquestionably luxurious. The glass-and-metal double front doors open into a majestic foyer topped by a big skylight, complete with views that stretch through the backyard and to the rolling hills beyond. In addition to a fireplace-equipped living room and library, there’s a family room open to the chef’s kitchen and six guest/family bedrooms. The primary suite features dual bathrooms, dual closets, a fireplace and jacuzzi; elsewhere are a home gym, executive office and formal dining room.
But it’s outside where the property really shines — the exquisite grounds include manicured boxwoods and rose gardens, mature palm trees and tranquil fountains. Both the reflecting pool and separate infinity-edge swimming pool overlook the long canyon views, and there are numerous terraces for al fresco dining and entertaining.
