A little over three years ago, after some time spent bunking up in a $16,000-per-month Los Angeles rental, “Black and Yellow” rapper Cameron Jibril Thomaz — better known professionally as Wiz Khalifa — dropped $3.4 million on ultra-modern digs in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Encino.
Though Khalifa still owns that residence, as well as a place in his Pittsburgh hometown, he recently spent a tad over $7.6 million to upgrade into another glitzy mansion in the same area, only about three miles away. No word yet on whether he’s already custom-tailored the premises with some of his favored amenities — think a personal weed bar, recording studio and Steelers-themed game room, just to name a few.
With an estimated net worth of around $60 million — from his successful music career, along with his specifically bred Khalifa Kush marijuana strain and mobile Weed Farm game, where players can start and tend to their virtual crops — he probably can afford to add pretty much anything he likes!
Newly built this year, Khalifa’s modern farmhouse-style estate features six bedrooms and seven baths draped across more than 8,000 square feet of open-concept living space adorned throughout with wood-beam ceilings, blonde hardwood floors and designer light fixtures. A home office, gym, movie theater and detached guesthouse are among the many creature comforts.
Tucked away down a lengthy gated driveway, the two-story stucco and wood structure is fronted by a spacious motorcourt and an attached three-car garage — perfect for the singer’s mostly old-school auto collection, which according to Architectural Digest, includes a 1969 El Camino, Chevelle, some muscle cars and a Mercedes Benz.
A glassy front door resting beneath a porte-cochère opens to a double-height foyer. From there, an elegant living room boasts an eye-catching linear fireplace and sliding glass doors spilling out to the backyard and a formal dining room boasts a wet bar. The family room adjoins a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen, which is decked out with a center island, Thermador appliances, a service bar with double-sided seating and breakfast nook.
A striking glass-lined staircase heads upstairs, where the plush master retreat features a cozy fireside sitting area, mini-bar and dual showroom-style closets. Especially standing out is a spa-inspired bath equipped with dual vanities, an oval soaking tub, a massive glass-encased shower and private balcony.
As for the grounds, the nearly half-acre parcel hosts a Baja-shelf pool and spa surrounded by a grassy lawn, plus a covered lounge patio with fire-pit, an outdoor kitchen with a built-in barbecue and bar, a trellised dining area and basketball court. There’s also the aforementioned 450-square-foot guesthouse equipped with a kitchenette and bath.
