Everyone’s favorite Barbados-born lingerie and beauty mogul, Grammy-winning pop superstar, new mom and budding real estate tycoon has one less thing on her plate these days. After several years on and off the market, and concurrently up for rent, Rihanna has finally managed to offload her Hollywood Hills home.
First listed for a speck under $7.5 million in December 2018, and also floated for lease through the years at a pricey $35,000 per month, the Mediterranean-influenced property has ultimately transferred to an unnamed buyer in an off-market deal for just under $6.6 million — or about $250,000 less than she paid for the place when it was almost brand new five years ago, back in summer 2017.
Hidden away behind gates and lush foliage, on a nearly half-acre parcel set high above the bustling Sunset Strip, the contemporary stucco and terracotta-roof structure was built on spec and completed in 2015. Inside, six bedrooms and 10 baths are filtered across a little more than 7,100 square feet of multi-level living space featuring high ceilings, arched doorways, and a mix of hardwood and tile floors.
Steel-framed doors and windows throughout the residence provide sweeping city lights and mountain views, and also offer seamless indoor-outdoor environs; and glitzy amenities include a movie theater and billiard room, plus a detached two-car garage hosting an upper-level guesthouse with a gym and bath.
Among the other highlights: a glam stone-clad foyer boasting a striking staircase and gold-hued chandeliers, along with a living room displaying a tiled fireplace and chandelier dangling from a ceiling medallion, and formal dining room resting beneath a wood-beam ceiling. There’s also a cozy family room, which is flanked by a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen outfitted with top-tier appliances and an L-shaped black marble island with seating.
Four ensuite bedrooms can be found upstairs, including a penthouse-style master retreat adorned with a fireplace, separate sitting area, private balcony, and luxe bath sporting dual vanities and a soaking tub. An additional guest suite is located on the lower level; and outdoors, the grassy backyard hosts and an eye-catching infinity pool and spa, along with a barbecue setup, and several spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining.
In addition to her just-sold Hollywood Hills home, the “Umbrella crooner,” 34, has amassed an impressive cache of properties throughout Los Angeles. She also owns a $13 million Beverly Hills mansion, as well as the $10 million house right next door. Her longtime main residence remains a multimillion-dollar condo in The Century skyscraper.
