Last spring, musician Paul Klein sold his ocean-view condo in a Pacific Palisades high-rise for nearly $1.3 million after less than three years of ownership. Now the frontman and guitarist of the indie-pop group LANY (Los Angeles New York), which has gained a loyal cult-like following since its 2014 debut, has set his real estate sights on another L.A. pocket, having picked up larger Spanish-style digs in Hollywood Hills.
Records show the former model — probably still widely known for his highly publicized breakup with Grammy-winning pop superstar Dua Lipa at the beginning of 2018, after just five months of dating — forked over $3.7 million for the “Andalusian farmhouse.” Originally built in 1927, and since renovated and expanded, the place was first listed in October with a $4.1 million ask, before ultimately going to Klein at a slight discount.
Tucked away on a leafy and gated street-to-street parcel near the popular Runyon Canyon Park, the beige-hued stucco and terracotta-roof structure features three bedrooms and four baths in a little more than 2,600 square feet of two-level living space boasting a mix of tile and hardwood floors, arched windows and doorways, and two staircases.
Among the highlights: a double-height family room resting beneath a stenciled wood-beam ceiling topped by a chandelier, and sporting a wood-burning fireplace, an adjacent zinc-clad wet bar and French doors spilling out to a terrace. There’s also a formal dining room that can easily double as a den, complete with surround sound, hidden speakers and a balcony overlooking the backyard, along with an updated kitchen equipped with olive green cabinetry, an eat-in island, stainless appliances and an accompanying breakfast nook.
