After barely two years of ownership, Mikkel Eriksen has decided to part ways with his ranch house in the horse-friendly Sullivan Canyon community, on the border of Brentwood and Pacific Palisades.
The two-time Grammy winner — half of the successful Los Angeles-based song production team Stargate, which is known for writing and producing some of the biggest pop hits of the 2000s — Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable,” Katy Perry’s “Firework” and Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” — is asking a speck under $15 million for the newly revamped spread, which he originally acquired for just over $7 million.
Originally built in the 1980s, the Cliff May-designed property underwent an extensive down-to-the-studs remodel this year by Montalba Architects — widely known for its work with Nobu Hotels and Soho House — and includes a four-bedroom, six-bath house featuring a little more than 5,100 square feet of single-level living space boasting custom millwork, white oak floors, vaulted wood-beam ceilings dotted with skylights and designer lighting throughout.
Outdoor amenities include a meditation/yoga platform, as well as a koi pond with a statuesque fountain, cold plunge and six-person infrared sauna. There’s also a full-sized lighted tennis court with a basketball hoop, micro-pebble pool and spa surrounded by a grassy lawn and sundeck, two horse stalls and a tack room.
Tucked away on a cul-de-sac parcel spanning three-quarters of an acre, the modern steel-roof structure is described as “Scandinavian” in architectural style, and secluded behind a double gate and ivy-clad walls. Once inside, a spacious fireside living room has steel-framed doors spilling out to an alfresco dining and lounging terrace bolstered by a fireplace and built-in barbecue, and a formal dining room with built-in cabinetry adjoins a wet bar.
A family room connects to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with an eat-in island, top-tier Miele, Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook warmed by a fireplace, and other highlights include a posh master retreat sporting a dual-sided fireplace, separate office space, walk-in closet and luxe bath spotlighted by a large soaking tub that opens to the aforementioned cold plunge. The home also has an attached three-car garage.
The listing is held by Cindy Ambuehl of Compass, and you can check it out this weekend at the open house.
