Meghan Trainor Seeks $6 Million for Celeb-Pedigreed Toluca Lake Compound

Body positive pop star and televised talent show judge Meghan Trainor and actor Daryl Sabara splashed out $6.6 million last year for a nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion in Encino, so it comes as little surprise the new parents have, as was first sussed out by Forbes, just put their celeb-pedigreed compound in the star-favored Toluca Lake area on the market a $5.95 million.

The “All About That Bass” singer, a 2016 Grammy winner in the Best New Artist category and a judge on the U.K. version of “The Voice” last year, paid $4.9 million for the nearly one-acre estate over the summer of 2016, right about the time she began dating Sabara, who currently voices one of the characters in the animated children’s series “Ben 10” but is probably best known for his leading role in the early Aughts “Spy Kids” franchise.

Once Bing Crosby’s carriage house — the legendary entertainers former home, a stately Colonial, is next door, the nearly 7,200-square-foot ranch house was owned by now divorced Tinseltowers Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green before they sold it in late 2015 for $2.6 million to developers who transformed the sprawling single-level home into a modern farmhouse with five en-suite bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms before they flipped it to Trainor.

Sequestered behind a high wall and secured gates with a long drive that picturesquely passes through beneath the canopies of mature trees on its way to the motor court and garage, the multi-winged home features open-plan living spaces with soaring open-beam vaulted ceilings, a kitchen with not just one but three dishwashers and a library that does double duty as a media room. A lofted space above garage has a serene and leafy view through a triangular wall of glass, while one of the two detached guesthouses has been converted to an almost 1,700-square-foot state-of-the-art recording studio/dance space and the other is outfitted as a gym.

Flat as a pancake, the backyard stretches out between the main house and guest houses and incorporates a huge dining terrace placed between parallel rows of trees and a bowling alley-like strip of even mown grass alongside an LED-lit swimming pool and spa.

In addition to their recently acquired six-bedroom mansion in Encino, which they bought from rapper TMG Fresh, Trainor also owns a considerably smaller four-bedroom and three-bath home in the once unsung and nowadays increasingly sought after Valley Village area of the San Fernando Valley that she scooped up in late 2016 for just under $1.7 million.
