That was fast!
No even six months ago, lavender Mercedes Benz driving 19-year-old Cuban pop singer and social media sensation Malú Trevejo plunked down $1.1 million for a five-bedroom, five-bath contemporary home inside the gates of the Modern Doral enclave in sleepy Doral, Fla., about 20 miles and easily an hour’s drive due west of South Beach.
The Spanglish singing digital dynamo, a world-class twerker and skilled provocateur with 11.5 million Instagram followers, almost 25 million TikTok followers, a popular OnlyFans site and a staggering 123 million YouTube views of her infectious 2017 debut single “Luna Llena,” which came out when she was just 14 years old, almost immediately changed her teenaged mind and flipped the boxy 3,600-square-foot boxy contemporary home back on the market six weeks later with an asking price of $1.25 million.
An offer was accepted within just a few weeks, and she recently sealed the deal with an over-asking sale price of $1.275 million. Trevejo was represented in the deal by Chad Bishop and Summer Sawaya of The Chad Bishop Group at One Sotheby’s International Realty, while the seller was handled by Miguel Solis of Douglas Elliman.
Gleaming white porcelain tile floors flow from the double-height foyer into the open-plan living space that sports ten-foot ceilings, waterfall countertops on the kitchen’s island snack bar, and glass sliders to the backyard. Impact windows throughout protect the home from hurricanes. The light-filled all-white space is enlivened with a funky and eclectic array of furnishings that include a suite of seal-grey tufted velvet sofas and a throne-like pair of oval-backed chairs worthy of inclusion in the next “Alice in Wonderland” film.
In addition to a lofted lounge area with a swinging basket chair and a plush a teal-colored sofa perfect for the VIP room of a trendy nightclub, the four upstairs bedrooms include the primary suite, which opens to a small balcony and includes an all-white bathroom and a large walk-in closet. Trevejo used another of the upstairs bedrooms as a dressing/glam room.
The 5,100-square-foot lot doesn’t provide a lot of room to roam in the fully fenced backyard that squeezes in a built-in grill, a large patio, a heated plunge pool and a small patch of patchy grass.
Trevejo, whose internet popularity and exploding music career allow her to travel by private jet nowadays, currently owns another home, this one in Plantation, Fla., an unsung suburb of Fort Lauderdale. Custom built in 2009 by rapper Fat Joe, Trevejo purchased the five-bedroom spread just over a year ago for $2.25 million. It is now for sale at $2.6 million after it first popped up for sale earlier this year at $3.25 million.
