What goes around comes around for Justin Timberlake, who just listed the swank Hollywood Hills compound he picked up nearly 20 years ago. Back then, he was still a single *NSYNC boy-band member on the cusp of a solo singing career. Since then, the pop star’s gotten hitched to actress and producer Jessica Biel (“The Sinner”), and as first reported by The Wall Street Journal, the couple have hoisted their palatial digs onto the market with a $35 million ask.
That’s a whopping $26.7 million more than the Grammy-winning singer and actor (“The Social Network,” “Friends with Benefits,” “Palmer”) paid actress Helen Hunt for the place almost two decades ago. But the couple have since undertaken a complete renovation of the 10.2-acre premises, with its main house including newly chic rustic-modern interiors crafted by noted L.A. designer Estee Stanley, plus an 85-foot zero-edge swimming pool and separate plunge pool.
The Timberlake-Biel property has a celebrity pedigree dating back to the 1940s, when swashbuckling actor Erroll Flynn constructed a mansion that was later owned by singing cowboy Stuart Hamblen and singer/songwriter Ricky Nelson. In the 1980s, a real estate developer purchased the land, razed the home and broke the property into separate parcels. In 2000, Hunt built a Spanish-style residence on an approximately 3-acre lot that she went on to sell to Timberlake. The “Can’t Stop The feeling!” crooner then acquired a vacant, roughly 7-acre lot behind Hunt’s main residence for extra privacy.
Tucked securely away behind gates and a guard house at the end of a cul-de-sac, the two-level home has nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms spread across more than 13,500 square feet. Naturally, the structure is packed with all of the decadent amenities one would expect, including four fireplaces, a gym and a plush screening room. An outdoor living room wrapping the house is ideal for entertaining and al fresco dining. Views take in a big swatch of the San Fernando Valley skyline.
Other highlights include a gourmet kitchen and a sumptuous master retreat with its own dressing room and a luxe bathroom. As for the heavily wooded grounds, they include an expansive lawn spotlighted by the aforementioned pools, along with a lighted tennis/sports court, vegetable garden and standalone guesthouse.
Timberlake, 40, and Biel, 39, also maintain a four-bedroom, six-bath penthouse in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood that they purchased in 2017 for a little over $20 million, plus 127 undeveloped acres south of Nashville and a spacious home in the affluent Yellowstone Club near Big Sky, Montana. About two-and-a-half years ago, the couple let go of a penthouse in New York’s Soho Mews building for $6.35 million.
Hilton & Hyland’s Justin Paul Huchel and Drew Fenton are the listing agents for the Hollywood Hills property.
