Almost four years ago, Jessie James Decker acquired a sprawling Nashville estate. Barely two months later, the country music star and Kittenish clothing designer told People that she and her longtime husband, retired NFL player Eric Decker, believed they had found their family’s “forever home” because it checked off “every item on the wish list.”
But that was then! Now the Deckers have changed their minds and are hoisting their property back onto the market, asking a substantially higher $10.3 million — or a whopping $6 million more than the couple paid for the place back in spring 2019. But they did undertake an extensive renovation of the premises during their tenure to suit their personal tastes, which included an updated Italian-style kitchen with two islands, so there would be plenty of counter space for cooking and entertaining — a “game changer,” Jessie said.
Designed by noted Nashville architect Ron Farris and completed in 2011, the three-story structure is tucked securely behind a gated driveway, on a nearly 3-acre parcel in the exclusive Oak Hill neighborhood pocket. Inside, six bedrooms and 11 baths are spread across a little more than 13,300 square feet of open-concept living space adorned throughout with a mix of hardwood and tile floors, high wood-beam ceilings, arched doorways and designer light fixtures.
Glitzy amenities include a mirrored gym that opens to the outdoors, pink and green music studio, separate music room, screened porch spotlighted by a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace and large office space with its own entrance. A huge finished basement features a children’s playroom boasting a rock wall, monkey bars and an inflatable gymnastics mat on one side, and a screening /game room on the other, plus an alcove for storing and tasting wine.
Among the other highlights: a double-height foyer displaying a curving spiral staircase, fireside living room with a bank of French doors spilling outside and formal dining room with yet another fireplace. A sleekly designed gourmet kitchen is outfitted with the aforementioned dual islands, as well as high-end stainless appliances and an adjacent wet bar, while the light-filled master retreat sports a seating area, and luxe bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub and shower.
Outdoors, the picturesque grounds are laced with mature trees and an expansive grassy lawn, and host a covered patio ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining, fire-pit and geothermal-heated pool surrounded by turf. There’s also an attached four-car garage and a spacious motorcourt out front.
